Due to the Sydney grading and Christmas party, this Saturday (15/12/18) the Canberra dojo will be closed for training the following day (Sunday 15/12/18) for both sessions.
Shinto Muso Ryu (SMR) is a weapons based martial art predominantly using the Jo (staff) and Ken (sword). SMR comes under the category of koryu (old school) martial arts in Japan. Koryu martial arts are long established schools, usually 400+ years old. In the case of SMR it has been documented back to the 16th Century. Koryu schools seek to preserve the art as it was taught and focus both on technical use of weaponry as well as strategy and tactics of their use.
