Yoshinkai ACT

Fees

Introduction

Aikido Yoshinkai ACT (AYACT ) fees contribute to the cost of venue hire and other associated expenses to run our traditional dojo (training centre). Being a member of a traditional dojo gives you access to participate in classes, seminars and special member events.

You are welcome to visit AYACT and watch our training so you can gauge if membership with us is appropriate for you.

If you would like to be considered for AYACT membership, please download, print and complete the Membership Application Form – see below. This Form must be completed and witnessed, and fees paid before you can participate in training.

If you are visiting AYACT from another dojo and you wish to train with us, it is traditional and good dojo etiquette to present an introduction from your sensei on arrival to AYACT. If you do not have an introduction, you may not be able to train with us.

  3. other Aikido Yoshinkai Federation (AYF) dojo or a dojo that practises the Yoshinkan style; or
  4. other aikido dojo

1. Fees payable if you are an AYACT member:

  • Annual fee; and
  • Monthly individual fee, OR monthly family fee OR casual fee per calendar day on the mat; and
  • Grading fee; and
  • Attendance fees for seminars and special member events

Note: Fees that are due and payable on the 1st day of the calendar month BUT not paid by the 8th day will incur an additional $20 per month, unless you have made a prior arrangement with us.

Annual fee payable in a financial year – beginning of July to the end of next June:

  • $60 if paid between July to the end of December; or
  • $40 if paid between January to the end of June
  • This fee is payable the first time that you step on the mat in a financial year

Monthly individual fee:

  • Monthly individual fee is calculated on a yearly basis and divided by 12 months
  • Members aged 15 or older: $150 per calendar month, due and payable on the 1st day of the calendar month
  • Members under 15 years old: $120 per calendar months, due and payable on the 1st day of the calendar month

Monthly family fee:

  • Instead of the monthly individual fee (see above) or the casual fee per lesson (see below), you may wish to sign up as a family
  • This is only available for immediate family members who live in the same abode – i.e. a married or de facto couple, single parent, and child/children in the family, AND all living at the same address
  • Further each person must have been accepted as a member of AYACT

How does a monthly family fee work? Say you have a 3 members-family plan, then any 3 members of your family can train in a particular class. However, each person training must pay a separate annual fee, and each person has been accepted as a member of AYACT, and you can’t have 4 or more family members training in that particular class.

Cost of monthly family fee:

  • 2 members-family plan- 5% discount per person calculated from the monthly individual fee, due and payable on the 1st day of the calendar month (e.g. for 2 members, aged 15 or older – $285 per calendar month, discounted from $300 – 5% discount per person);
  • 3 or more members-family plan – 10% discount per person calculated from the monthly individual fee, due and payable on the 1st day of the calendar month

Note: Each person training under the monthly family plan also pays the annual fee.

Casual fee per calendar day on the mat:

  • $25

Fees for grading and attendance at seminars and special events:

  • These are additional costs and they vary from time-to-time.

Note: If you are a new AYACT member but you change your mind about being a member, you can seek a refund of the monthly fee that you’ve paid less the Annual Fee (of $60 or $40). Your request for a refund must be in writing AND it must be received by AYACT within 7 calendar days of your first lesson.
